The Beginning of M'zakes Kitchen
M'zakes Kitchen started as a passion project inspired by the iconic Kwaito musician Mzekezeke, bringing authentic township cuisine to food lovers across Johannesburg. Launched over Easter weekend 2025, our online restaurant celebrates the rich culinary heritage of South African townships.
Our recipes honor traditional cooking methods and flavors, from flame-grilled meats to hearty stews and township classics like kotas and amagwinya. Each dish is crafted with care to deliver that authentic "kasi-approved" taste.
